Eternal Self

From the ancient times, great masters contemplated to seek and realize the inner self. While the modern scientists conducted scientific experiments to find the qualities of the external material objects, great sages and saints were interested in knowing the true nature of eternal self, "Atman" in philosophical terms. Through consistent inquiry into one's own self, the great masters discovered the true nature of self. Our inner self is a changeless substratum, that experiences different stages in our life, without being effected by the external objects. Our inner self is all pervasive, eternal, undistructable above all changeless, yet capable of experiencing all the changes in our life. Knowledge of our inner self will not only help us to know the reasons behind the grief that human beings experience, but also facilitate us to connect with our higher self - Supreme Self that pervades in the entire humankind.
